Galleon Treasure Red:
In the 17th century Spanish conquistadors brought red wines in their galleons to
the New World. These wines, similar to the 70% Chambourcin and 30% Cabernet
Franc in this bottle, were prized by the Brotherhood of the Coast and other
buccaneers. A galleon full of this wine was a treasure worth fighting for!
Galleon's Treasure is a hearty and full, aromatic dry red wine that goes well
with grilled meats and barbecues.
This distinctive bottle is a type of caravel, a ship with two
or three masts used by Europeans beginning in the 15th Century for long
exploratory voyages. Caravels were used to bring the first English settlers to
Jamestown, Virginia in 1607. Alcohol 12.5% by volume

Meritage (pronounced
like "heritage") was named by a group of American vintners to identify
hand-crafted wines blended from the traditional "noble" Bordeaux
varietals. Athena's 06 Meritage was made with a blend of 45% Cabernet
Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 15% Petit Verdot. The blend was aged in new
French oak barrels from the forests of central France. The 12.7% alcohol
content was chosen to preserve the elegance of this wine. The mellowness
and soft tannins with hints of vanilla and chocolate make Athena's
Meritage a perfect match for beef and game meats. 750 ml
